Smart Thermostats

There are many reasons and benefits to having Smart Home Technologies, one of the most important, readily available and cost rewarding features are their ability to easily, almost effortlessly control the temperature of your home, optimizing your convenience while minimize your expenses. There are many decisions and options when it comes to installing home automation. In this article we will highlight three of the most popular and highest rated Smart Home Thermostats available on the market today.

But before we start, let’s explain how these systems work and what they will do. Smart thermostat systems use the Wi-Fi signal in your home to communicate. They can be accessed from any smart device, your computers, your tablets and your phone can all be used to adjust the temperatures or signal you if something goes wrong. The more sophisticated ones will learn your habits, sensing your presence; they can detect when you’re home and when you’re not then adjust the temperature accordingly. Manufacturers’ data proclaim a smart thermostat can save you up to 23% of your electrical bill. The three models we reviewed average in price from $175-$250. If your homes average electrical bill is $250 these devices should pay for themselves in about four months.

One important note, not all thermostats communicate with all other devices seamlessly and you must have Wi-Fi in your home. You must make sure the brand and model you choose will communicate with the other devices already in your home. You must make note if you use an Android or iPhone operating system the smart thermostat you specify communicates with those systems. This would also be true if you have a smart home device such as Alexa you want to make sure the thermostat you choose will communicate with it. You can find these specifications are most often listed on the products datasheets.
